Designer Jewels Feature At The 2015 Melbourne Cup
The Melbourne Cup is more than a horse race that ‘stops a nation’. It’s Australia’s largest and most prestigious outdoor fashion event, a signature social occasion that’s a ‘must attend’.
The competition originally started back in 1962, attempting to bring more women to the races. Initially having 3 categories - outfits that cost under £30, £50 and over, and most elegant hat, the Myer Fashions on the Field has undergone many developments over the years.
Keeping the basic concept in mind, the event is now an opportunity for the fashion industry to showcase its finest pieces, and for members of the public to embrace their fashion passion.
And being one of Australia’s most prestigious fashion events, it attracts tons of media attention and celebrity judges from around the World.
More than 200 fashionistas pranced and posed on the runways at this year’s Myer Fashions on the Field.
With 50’s fashion making a comeback, the ladies certainly shone brightly:
Fluorescent pink, red and cobalt blues were popular
Citrus shades of lime green, lemon and acidic orange were also in vogue
Ladies swirled in full skirts, with floral and graphic prints
The iconic hats were big and bold with sculptural lace, fresh flowers and structured feathers
It was certainly a very colourful day and ladies had made enormous efforts with their overall look this year.
Leiela, a leading fashion designer, invited me to collaborate with her.
What a huge honour! Leiela invited me to complement her designer dress with my Andrea Agosta Designer Jewellery for the 2015 Melbourne Cup, Myer Fashions on the Field Designer Award.
And what an easy job it was to help the gorgeous model and Bully Zero Ambassador, Cindy Carino, sparkle. Working with both Leiela and Melissa Richards Millinery, a unique show-stopping look was created for Cindy.
And the media loved her!

With our combined designs, Cindy wowed the media.
We were very much in the spotlight, photographed by a number of individuals, including The Age.
Inspired by my recent trip to New York Fashion Week, Cindy wore my designer necklace called ‘Liberty’, complemented with layers of pearls and designer crystal ear cuffs which was perfectly suited to her pulled back hairstyle. Crystallized hand jewellery added that perfect hand sparkle!
